Song disappointed West Ham failed to land former teammate

first_img Alex Song and Emmanuel Adebayor Alex Song says he is disappointed that West Ham did not manage to sign Emmanuel Adebayor during the January transfer window.The Hammers attempted a deadline day swoop for the Togo striker, but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy reportedly blocked the move.Song, who played with Adebayor during his time at Arsenal, is close friends with the 30-year-old and has confessed it is a shame he couldn’t join him at Upton Park.“Definitely [it’s disappointing we couldn’t sign him]. He is a great player and a great guy,” said Song.“We played five years together and if we had got him it would have been good for us.“At the end of the day we did not make it and it was a little frustrating because I know he is a good player and at this time we are short a bit of experience.“But now I just want to say to him “good luck” and maybe I can play with him somewhere, you never know.” 1last_img
