Vivo V9 with iPhone X-like notch, dual rear cameras launching in India on March 27

first_imgVivo is launching the V9 in India on March 27, sources have confirmed to India Today Tech. Although tech specs of the Vivo V9 are all but scarce as of the moment, the phone in question will come with an iPhone X-like notch on the front, and dual rear cameras on the back. The V9 is notably successor to the V7 that brought a bezel-less screen and a whopping 24-megapixel front cameras to the masses. The V9 will be a mid-ranger, much like the V7, which means ideally it should cost under Rs 25,000. It’s likely to sport a plastic body, but, the highlight — just like the V7 — will be a Full View display. Only this time, it will be even more bezel-less thanks to a notch up-top although there’s likely going to be a small chin at the bottom. The V9 will also likely retain the 24-megapixel front camera of the V7 although it will come with dual rear camera as opposed to the V7 that came with a single camera on the rear. Rumour has it that the V9 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor. The Vivo V7 comes with a 5.7-inch 720p Full View display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage which is expandable via a dedicated micro-SD card slot, Android Nougat-based Fun Touch OS and a 3,000mAh battery powering the whole thing.ALSO READ: Vivo V7+ with 6-inch Full View display, 24MP selfie camera launched in India at Rs 21,990The V7 comes with a 16-megapixel camera on the rear with LED flash. The rear camera can record 1080p videos.advertisementThe Vivo V7 uses its selfie camera to serve a face unlocking mechanism which means much like the OnePlus 5T, Vivo’s phone can also be unlocked via a user’s face. The most striking aspect of the Vivo V7 is however its design. The V7 is an edge-to-edge or bezel-less phone, which means much like the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and the Apple iPhone X, Vivo’s new phone has an unusually tall screen and an unusual aspect ratio of 18:9. Vivo calls it Full View: a concept that gives Vivo’s phone a screen-to-body ratio of almost 84 per cent. The V7 is a 5.7-inch phone, but because Vivo has shaved off much of the top and bottom bezels as well as the bezels on the sides, the phone occupies a smaller footprint. It feels smaller in the hands.last_img
