Denmark’s Aaron McLaughlin. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound McLaughlin, a 247Sports Composite three-star prospect, chose the Tigers over Alabama, NC State, Arkansas and others. He is the 13th-rated Pro-Style passer in the 2021 class.Overall, McLaughlin is the 25th-ranked junior in Georgia and the 285th-overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings. You can view McLaughlin’s commitment video below. In it, he goes through a workout wearing shirts for each of his finalists. It ends with him officially announcing for Auburn.Jeremiah 29:11…..100% Committed, recruitment is shutdown. pic.twitter.com/8lVmNFiAR8— Aaron McLaughlin (@11_apm) July 30, 2019McLaughlin is the second commitment for the Tigers in the 2021 class, joining four-star running back Armoni Goodwin, one of the top players in state of Alabama. That’s a solid start for Auburn recruiting in 2021, and the Tigers currently own a top-15 recruiting class for 2020. However, the on-field results of this upcoming season will have a major impact on the future of the program. If AU doesn’t have a successful campaign, it will likely result in head coach Gus Malzahn losing his job. At that point, whoever the new head coach is, he will probably have to re-recruit some commits and signees.
